Treatment of
dental malocclusion

 

Orthodontics takes care of correcting skeletal or dental malocclusions. Mispositioned teeth with properly developed jaw bones (maxilla and mandible) can be cures with dental braces. Skeletal malocclusion can be cured with functional or orthopedic braces only up to a certain age, after which the therapy can be only orthodontic surgery.

RECEPTIVE ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
Intercepts and correct skeletal or dental malocclusions before the dentition is complete (before 12 years old).

FIXED ORTHODONTIC TREATMENTS
It corrects permanently non-surgical dental malocclusions. Fixed vestibular braces (metallic or aesthetic) or fixed lingual braces (completely invisible). After the fixed braces it is almost always used a mobile retainer to stabilize the result and avoid unwanted movements.

PREPROSTHETIC ORTHODONTIC
The loss of some dental elements causes almost all the time the movement of the adjacent or of the antagonist teeth. In this case, orthodontic internees to fix the residual teeth before the implementation of fixed prosthetic on natural or implanted teeth.

SURGICAL ORTHODONTIC
It decompensates the natural dental arch of from the occlusal compensation caused by malocclusion before a maxillo-maxilla-facial surgery is scheduled. On other occasions, it can be used to extrude those teeth that were still inside the bone.
